A Sports Anchor takes primary responsibility for educating the public about national, local, and international sports events. The following duties are listed on the Sports Anchor Resume – writing scripts and presenting sports news through television and radio broadcasts; coming up with story ideas and form relationships with people such as agents, coaches, and athletes; interviewing sports players inside and outside the studio for a live or recorded broadcast; presenting information for podcasts or video blogs, and presenting information that is easy to understand.

To be successful in the job, the following qualities are considered essential – the ability to succeed in a stressful environment, persistence, excellent oral and written communication skills; team player, persistence, and an objective on controversial stories. Employers typically look for candidates with a degree in journalism, or communications, or a related field. A strong interest and passion for sports are important than formal education.
