A Caster operates a hand-controlled mechanism that pours and regulates the flow of molten metal into molds. While the actual duties vary based on the type of factory the caster works for, the following are certain core tasks seen on the Caster Resume – casting jewelry pieces and ornamental figures; assembling sections of mold and securing mold with a clamp; pouring molten into the mold; collecting samples or signal workers; examining molds to ensure they are smooth and coated well; loading specific amount of metal and flux into furnaces; pulling the lever to lift ladle stoppers, and reading temperatures and gauges.
The nature of the job demands the following skills and abilities – knowledge of casting and assembling; the ability to use all types of hand and automatic devices; manual dexterity and knowledge of metals. Formal education is not mandatory for this role.

Placed forms around models and separately immersed each half portion of a model in plaster, wax, or other mold-making materials.
