A Printing Technician works in a print press and preparing large projects for print on a digital or laser printer or to reproduce the work of an artist in a printed format using advanced equipment. Common work activities are listed on the Printing Technician Resume as – installing the printers and configuring them on the network, procuring and installation of print parts, ensuring papers are loaded correctly in all printers, minimising paper jams, and reducing maintenance calls, repairing and replacing faulty parts, keeping track of the ink levels, maintaining laser printers, performing regular maintenance activity; troubleshooting network configuration issues for the network printers to function properly, and addressing upgrades of their antivirus and network patches to ensure security.
The nature of the job demands the following skills and abilities – knowledge of basic networking, prior experience in the maintenance and repair of printers, customer service skills, physical abilities, and multitasking skills. Graduates with a specialisation in Electronics will be preferred.
